High school featuring bilingual education opens in Detroit

The Detroit Public Schools district says Academy of the Americas expanded to a high school site and students in grades 8 to 10 last month started attending classes in the Escuela Preparatoria Academia de las Americas. The school will later expand to grades 11 and 12. Principal Nicholas Brown says in a statement the school offers an "opportunity to prepare students for a global, multilingual, multicultural workplace and society."
